In my household family we have many rules that we must follow. The rules can range from keeping our rooms clean to simply taking out the trash. All in all the rules are easy to follow except one in particular, which is keeping A’s and high B’s. This specific rule isn’t exactly the hardest to follow but it must be accomplished on top of everything else that is happening in your life. Therefore school always has to come first and it does not matter if you are having a tough time or if work is busy, if you do not have straight A’s you will suffer.
Furthermore, I did actually break this rule last year. It was I believe the third six weeks and I had recently been having trouble in history. The reason to why I was having trouble in history was not because I was distracted by a girl or was being distracted by my cell phone, but because I had stupidly decided to not try on purpose. This decision was catastrophic due to the fact that I was already having a hard time in the class. The decision was made because I impulsively decided that I needed to give myself a break even though there was no good reason for the so called break. Consequently, I ended up having a 79 in the class on the report card and my parents were not having it. Thus, I was grounded of going out, had my Xbox privileges taken away, and a 10 pm curfew was set into place until my grade was a b plus.
However, the consequences that I experienced were not unfair because I had been warned of them prior to the incident many times. I now understand that the expectations that my parents have for me are to be taken seriously not just because they have great reasoning behind them but because I have more in jeopardy this time around.
