During my childhood one of my favorite books to read was THE CAT IN THE HAT by Dr. Seuss. I remember that I would read it any chance I had. Whether it was during the day or right before I went to bed. Also, I would beg my sister to read it to me but that didn’t last soon as she lost interest very quickly. I remember that my parents bought me the book from a garage sale just down the street while I was looking at toys. At first I thought it was stupid and dumb that they had decided to get me a book but I soon realized it was no stupid decision.
When it comes to the story itself I remember that it was about these two kids who were home alone up until the Cat In The Hat entered their house. The cat made a mess and was annoying the kids and the fish as it could talk. Then he released Thing One and Thing Two into the house. They created a gigantic mess just as the mom was outside the house. The Cat then proceeded to bring in a vehicle which cleaned up the whole house just in time. The kids did not get in trouble and neither did the cat.
Moving onto the illustrations, I do remember that they were somewhat colorful but had repetitive colors. Also, the pictures where sketch like and unique. I consider this book my favorite because it was easy to read, interesting, and weird at the time. Lastly, unfortunately I do not have a copy anymore and I have not read the book in a couple of years.
